The city of Mammoth Lakes is located right off Highway 395 on the Eastern side of the Sierras. It is 325 miles north of Los Angeles, 300 miles east of San Francisco and 164 miles south of Reno. Mammoth has just added an airport large enough to accommodate commercial flights. There is no commercial air service yet but charters are available.
